General Frequently Asked Questions

If it’s damaged, we can fix it! From stains, tears, burns, wrinkles, and bumps to pet-related issues, our skilled technicians can handle it all. We specialize in mending tears, removing stubborn stains, restretching carpets to eliminate wrinkles and waves, repairing transitions, and addressing pet damage. Our goal is to provide seamless repairs, leaving your carpets looking fresh and rejuvenated.

Our mantra is simple: fix it, don’t replace it. While there are exceptions, in most cases, repairing, stretching, or dyeing your carpet is the most cost-effective solution. Even if your carpet is older but still looks good, repairing or stretching it is often the better choice.

Here’s why:

• Cost Savings: The average cost for repairs, stretching, or dyeing typically ranges between $200–$450. More complex jobs, such as extensive carpet dyeing or larger projects, may exceed this range depending on factors like size, quantity, and difficulty. Even with these
variations, repairs and stretching remain far more affordable than replacement.

• Furniture Removal: Replacing carpet involves removing all furniture from the home, adding significant expense and inconvenience.

• Time and Effort: Repairs, stretching, and dyeing are quicker, less disruptive processes compared to a full replacement.

The contrast between the costs of repairs, stretching, and replacement is significant. Don’t just take our word for it—do your own research, and you’ll find our advice is verifiable and true. Save time, money, and effort by fixing what you have!

We service the seven-county metro area. If you’re within this region, we’ll come to you!

No problem! If you don’t have extra carpet, we can repurpose carpet from a closet or another inconspicuous area in your home to complete the repair. Once we remove the carpet for the
repair, we’ll replace the inconspicuous area with a non-matching piece. While we can custom-dye the replacement piece to match the color, the style and texture may differ.

This process involves an additional step: to fix one area, we remove carpet from another, which then needs to be replaced. We aim to use a piece that matches as closely as possible in color, but there’s no guarantee it will match perfectly. For the best results, you can check with carpet stores or your original supplier to see if remnants are available.

We use a power stretcher to ensure professional results, stretching the carpet in two directions for maximum tension. Unlike carpet kickers (which we don’t use as standalone tools), we utilize the full power stretcher system. We also conduct stretch tests before and after the job as proof of quality. When we’re done, your carpet will have adequate tension, eliminating any wrinkles or ripples.

For carpet cleaning, we can move small items and may slide chairs or couches as needed, but we rely on you to expose as much carpet as possible before we arrive.

For carpet stretching/re-stretching, rooms need to be completely empty. The reason is simple: the process requires a power stretcher, which uses a pole system that cannot function properly with furniture in the room. Furniture impedes the use of the stretcher and prevents the necessary two-directional stretching (both length and width) for adequate results.

If anyone claims they can properly stretch a room with furniture in it, it’s a red flag—they are not being honest with you. Similarly, if they say stretching can be done adequately without a power stretcher, they are also providing misleading information. To ensure the job is done correctly, the room must be cleared of all furniture, and a professional power stretcher must be used. If you need assistance, we recommend hiring a moving company, which is often more affordable than expected.

We use truck-mounted equipment with hoses that run directly from the truck into your residence. Our soap-free, free-rinsing cleaning solutions ensure no negative residues are left behind. In fact, modern carpet cleaning chemistry allows for residues that positively affect your carpets.

The cleaner your carpet, the faster it dries. Typical drying times range from 2 to 24 hours. You can walk on the carpet while it’s damp but use caution when transitioning to hard surfaces, as they can become slippery. We clean only exposed carpeted areas and do not move large
furniture during the process.

Carpet dyeing is a permanent solution. Our dyes are 100% colorfast and won’t wear, wash, or wipe off. While we strive for perfection, some cases may only result in improvement. However, our improvements are typically seamless to the eye.

Dyeing is often preferred over cutting, as it preserves the structural integrity of your carpet. Although it’s a more complex and costly process, the results are worth it. Dyeing won’t alter your carpet’s texture, and our dyes are non-toxic, odorless, and safe for children and pets. You can walk on or clean the repaired area immediately after we finish.

Frequently Asked Questions for Each Service

Carpet Repair

If the damage is limited to a small area and the overall condition of the carpet is good, repair is usually sufficient. If the damage is widespread, extensively worn, or too old, replacement may be more practical.

Yes, we offer free estimates. Our technicians will assess the carpet’s condition and provide an accurate quote for the necessary repairs.

The repair time depends on the size and complexity of the tear. In most cases, it can be completed within a few hours.

Absolutely, our skilled technicians ensure seamless color and texture matching during repairs for a flawless result.

Carpet Cleaning

The drying time for your carpet depends on several factors. These include the carpet’s condition before cleaning, the level of dirtiness, and the type of cleaning performed. Dirtier carpets tend to get wetter and take longer to dry, whereas cleaner carpets use less moisture and dry faster. Environmental factors such as outdoor and indoor air temperature, humidity, whether windows are open or closed, the season, and the use of fans also play a role. Generally, carpets can take between 2 to 24 hours to dry, with basements potentially remaining damp for longer. For optimal drying, maintain good airflow and reduce indoor humidity by using air conditioning or opening windows when outdoor humidity is low.

We service the seven-county metro area.

For residential carpet cleaning, we use the Hot Water Extraction method. This method is preferred by all carpet manufacturers and provides the most reliable results for clean carpets.

No, nobody in the carpet cleaning industry uses soap anymore. The term “soapy residues” is a misnomer. Modern carpet cleaning solutions have evolved and can crystallize when dry, be free-rinsing, or pH balanced through proper chemistry. Some solutions today can remain in your carpet without promoting rapid resoiling; in fact, they can help resist it. Be cautious if a cleaning solution has a strong orange or citrus smell, as high concentrations of delimonene (a natural oil found in orange peels) can cause dizziness, health issues, and be difficult to rinse out, leaving a residue that promotes resoiling.

Use caution when transitioning from wet carpet to dry hard floors, as wet carpet can make your socks wet. Walking on wet carpet with dirty shoes can transfer soil onto the carpet. It is recommended to wear indoor slippers or plastic booties (though booties can be slippery, so use caution) and to wear the cleanest footwear possible.

Yes and no. We can move small items, but we do not move large or very heavy items, such as hutches, sectional couches, or fragile objects.

Urine Odor Removal

We guarantee our systems, processes, and treatments work. However, as mentioned, there’s an inherent tension with urine odor removal. Due to the complexity of locating all odors and the subjectivity of the human nose, we’ve decided that the human element is too fickle to guarantee these treatments. Despite this, we are confident in the effectiveness of our technology, treatments, and systems.

We will assess the situation and inform you. Typically, Level 1 or 2 is sufficient unless there is an area heavily used as a litter box.

We do not offer refunds for odor removal services, as we do not claim complete removal. However, we stand by the effectiveness of our systems, processes, and treatments.

Removing urine is a challenging process, and while there are risks, they are minimal. We strive to identify any potential issues before treating multiple areas.
